History

Macquarie Chapel Presbyterian Church is the union of two churches. Macquarie Presbyterian Church was established in the 1950s as a church plant from Eastwood Presbyterian. Initially they met in tents and celebrated when the current building was opened in 1979.

In 2001, under the leadership of Rev Richard Quadrio, a small church plant, Macquarie Chapel, started worshipping in the church building. In 2007 the two churches officially joined together with a common leadership and vision.

In 2012 Richard left MacChap as its Senior Pastor to take up a position as a Chaplain in the Royal Australian Navy. In June 2013 Rev Leon Kruger was welcomed as our new Senior Pastor.

Most locals refer to our church community as MacChap. You may want to do so too.
